About Hooper's Martial Arts Academy instructors

Introducing Professor Clint Hooper, the owner and head instructor of Hoopers Martial Arts Academy. Clint's journey into the world of martial arts began over two decades ago when he first stepped onto the mats learning the discipline of Kenpo Karate in 1994. Clint attained his black belt in Kenpo Karate by 1997, in which he holds a 5th degree black belt. Marking the beginning of his long martial arts career.

Clint ventured into the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, armed with nothing but VHS tapes and instructional books to develop his skill but his love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was born. His dedication for the art eventually led him to formal training in 2003, a time period where training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu required lengthy travel to find an instructor. Clint received his black belt in March of 2015 under the instruction of Andrew Sabens and Charuto Verissimo. Clint now holds the rank of 2nd degree black belt under the Tac Team affiliation and has promoted four black belts under his instruction.

Introducing Professor Ben Troester, a cornerstone of our BJJ community! Ben embarked on his BJJ journey under the guidance of Professor Clint Hooper on October 31, 2007. Since then, he's been an integral part of the HMAA family, lending his expertise to both adult and children's classes. His dedication and passion earned him a promotion to black belt on March 2, 2020. Recently, Professor Troester achieved the rank of first-degree black belt on August 22, 2023, a testament to his commitment and skill. Join us in celebrating one of the four BJJ black belts produced by Hooper's Martial Arts Academy.
